Solution 1: Delete customers without transactions in QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale

You can remove customers in QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale to ensure that the list is maximized:

  1. From the Customers menu, choose Customer List.
  2. Open a report to check the customers who don’t have account balances.
    1. Navigate to the Customer List window, click on I want to ▼ drop-down menu.
    2. Choose Run a report and then click on General – Customer List.
    3. From the top of the menu, click on Modify and then choose Add or Remove columns.
    4. Mark the Account Balance checkbox and then click on Save.
    5. You can save a copy of your list by clicking on Print. Once the process finishes, click on Close.
  3. Press and hold the CTRL key and choose the customers you will be removing from the report.
  4. Click on Delete from the left menu and then enter YES to confirm.
  5. Click on OK to finish the process.
  6. Try to run a financial exchange again.

Solution 2: Delete customers without transactions in QuickBooks for Windows

If the maximum limit is reached, you can remove customers that don’t have any transaction.

To delete customers:

  1. Press the F2 or CTRL + 1 to open the Product Information window.
  2. Now, go to the List Information section.
  3. Ensure that the Customers count is higher than the 14,500 limit.
  4. From the Customers menu and then click on Customer Center.
  5. Right-click on the customer you want to remove and then click on Delete Customer:Job. Note: The customer having subitems couldn’t be removed. You may have to delete or move the sub items first.
    Repeat steps 4 and 5 for other customers.
  6. Try to run a financial exchange again.

Solution 3: Re-sort the customer list

  1. From the Customers menu, choose Customer Center.
  2. From the View menu, choose Re-sort list.
