This error can occur when you try to use the ACFT but you don’t have a valid subscription. You can also get this error if you are subscribed to Accountant’s Copy File Transfer Service but your QuickBooks is not synced with the Intuit servers.

Important:
- You should be using the latest version of QuickBooks.
- You should be running QuickBooks with Administrator rights while following the provided steps.
Solution 1: Sync License Data Online
- You should be connected to the internet properly.
- Sync your license data online by following the below-mentioned steps.
- From the main menu of QuickBooks, go to Help > Manage My License.
- Choose Sync License Data Online.
Solution 2: Send an Accountant’s Copy using a different file

- From the Start menu, go to Settings.
- Click on Accounts > Family & other users.
- From the Other Users section, click on Add someone else to this PC.
- Click on I don’t have this person’s sign-in information and Add a user without a Microsoft account.
- Provide a name to the new account and click on Finish. Recommended: Set a strong password for the new account as well.
- Select a newly created account and click on Account Type.
- Select the Administrator and click on OK.
Windows 8 and 7
- Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run
- Type Control Panel in the search box and click on OK.
- Go to User Accounts > Manage another account.
- Choose Create a new account and enter a new name for the new account.
- Click on Administrator and Create Account.
Windows 8.1
- Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run
- Type Control Panel in the search box and click on OK.
- Go to User Accounts > Manage another account.
- Click on Other accounts > Add an account.
- Choose Sign in without a Microsoft account (not recommended) and then click on Local account.
- Enter the username, password and password hint and click on Next.
- You will be redirected to the Manage Other Accounts Choose the account that you just created and click on Edit.
- The new user is set to standard user by default. You need to click on the Administrator from the drop-down options.
- Click on OK.
Windows Servers 2012
Note: Servers are maintained by licensed computer technician. You can consult your IT professional before performing the following steps.
- Open Server Manager.
- Go Tools and click on Computer Management.
- Expand the Local Users and groups and then click on Groups.
- Double-tap on the Administrator groups to go to the Administrators Properties
- Click on Add.
- From the Select Users, Computers, Service Accounts or Groups screen and provide the account you need to add to the local admin groups.
- Click on OK.
Windows Small Business Server 2011 and 2008/R2
- Run the Windows SBS (2011/2008)
- Click on Users and Groups and then navigate to the Users
- Click on Add a new user account from the Tasks pane to open the Add a New User Account wizard.
- Provide the information and choose the role for the new user.
- Assign a strong password for the new user. Note: You can’t go further without assigning a password and the password should meet the requirements.
- Click on Add user.
- Follow the onscreen prompts and click on Finish.
Accountant’s Copy File Uploaded Successfully But The Accountant Did Not Receive The Email Confirmation
Once you send your Accountant’s Copy through Intuit’s Accountant Copy File Service, the accountant doesn’t receive and confirmation email regarding the successful upload. This issue can arise due to the following issues:
- This file too large.
- Slow internet connection. Note: Intuit’s Accountant Copy File Transfer server doesn’t respond after a while. If you upload a file with 100 MB of size using a high-speed internet connection, the upload should complete successfully. However, if you upload the same file using a slow internet connection, the upload may fail.
- Internet Explorer is not the default web browser.
- Security settings are restricting the upload process.
- The email went straight to the junk or spam mail folder.
- The accountant’s email security is restricting the confirmation email.
Important:
- Use a different address for the accountant. If the accountant receives an email using a different mail, there are some server issues with your previous email and it is blocking the confirmation from ACFT.
- You can check your spam folder. You can contact your email service provider to add AccountantsCopy_notify@intuit.com as a trusted sender.
- If the email is received by your client, ask them to forward it to your accountant.
- You can also send your Accountant’s Copy through different means such as CD, flash drive and email attachments.
Solution 1: Resend the file
- Remove the Accountant’s Copy Restriction.
- Go to the File menu of QuickBooks and select Send Company File > Accountant’s Copy > Client Activities > Remove Restrictions.
- Click on Yes, I want to remove the Accountant’s Copy restrictions and OK.
- Use ACFT to resend your Accountant’s Copy.
- Again, go to the File menu and choose Send Company File > Accountant’s Copy > Client Activities.
- Click on Send to Accountant.
Solution 2: Set Internet Explorer as your default browser
- Run Internet Explorer and from the Tools menu, select Internet Options. Note: If the Tools menu is not visible, press the Alt key once.
- Navigate to the Program tab and click on Make Default.
- Click on Apply and OK.
Solution 3: Check the security settings for Outlook Express
- Open Outlook Express.
- From the main menu, go to Tools > Options.
- Go to the Security
- Remove the checkmark from Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus?
- Click on Apply and OK.
Application Not Found, QuickBase Error or expired download link
The files will be available for two weeks if they are uploaded through Intuit Severs. In case, the ACFT e-mail is already expired, you need to ask your client to remove an Accountant’s Copy Restrictions. You can get error message such as “The application does not exist or was deleted. If you followed a link to get here, you may want to inform the author of that link that the application no longer exists.” and “Cannot download file v0 from www.quickbase.com. Please try again later.” when experiencing this kind of issue.
If the download link from ACFT is expired, it doesn’t always mean that you have only 2-weeks of time to work on the Accountant’s Copy file. If you have downloaded the file once and saved it on your system, you can work on it as per your convenience.
Important: Removing the Accountant’s Copy restriction is IRREVERSIBLE that means you can’t undo this process. You should create a backup of your QuickBooks company file and take assistance from your accountant before removing the Accountant’s Copy Restriction.
Before re-sending the Accountant’s Copy file, test the link if it is really expired.
- Right-click on the file and click on Copy Hyperlink from the drop-down options.
- Paste it into the browser’s address bar and hit enter.
- If the file successfully downloaded, go to the location where you have saved the Accountant’s Copy. If you receive same error again, you need to send your Accountant’s Copy file again.
To re-send the Accountant’s Copy file
- Remove the Accountant’s Copy restriction
- From the main menu of QuickBooks, go to File > Send Company File > Accountant’s Copy > Client Activities.
- Click on Remove Restriction.
- Now, create the Accountant’s Copy file and send it again using ACFT.
- Go to the File menu of QuickBooks and select Send Company > Accountant’s Copy > Client Activities.
- Click on Send to Accountant.
Error “Page can not be displayed” when downloading Accountant’s Copy
If the Internet Explorer is not appropriately configured to access the QuickBooks server, you can get error messages or unexpected results while downloading the Accountant’s Copy using the ACFT service such as:
- Blank Page
- Page Can Not Be Displayed
- Page Error
- “To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options…”
Important: When you click on the download link from the accountantscopy@intuit.com, will ask you to Open or Save the Accountant’s Copy file. We suggest you to save the file on your local drive before opening the Accountant’s Copy file QuickBooks Desktop.
Perform these solutions to fix this error:
Solution 1: Add the Intuit’s URL as a trusted site
- Run Internet Explorer.
- Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Note: If you don’t see the Tools menu, press the Alt
- Navigate to the Security tab and then click on Trusted Sites and Sites.
- Now, type in “https://www.intuitcorp.quickbase.com” and then click on Add. Quick tip: Include “https://mail.google.com” as a trusted site if your email provider is Google.
- Click on Close.
- Click on Apply and OK.
Solution 2: Reset the Internet Explorer
- Run Internet Explorer.
- Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Note: If you don’t see the Tools menu, press the Alt key
- Navigate to the Advanced
- From the Reset Internet Explorer Settings field, click on Reset.
- Restart the Internet Explorer.
Solution 3: Disable saving encrypted pages to Disk
- Run Internet Explorer.
- Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Note: If you don’t see the Tools menu, press the Alt key
- Navigate to the Advanced
- Locate and unmark Do not save encrypted pages to disk.
- Click on Apply and OK.
